The cameras should be mounted outside the structure with the camera's power cord (white, female plug) threaded through a hole drilled into the structure. The AC power adapter plug (black, male plug) is inserted into the camera's power cord (white, female plug), and the AC power adapter is plugged into an outlet inside the structure. If the camera's power cord and the AC power adapter were outside the structure, you would expose the unprotected AC power adapter to the weather and increase the possibility of signal failure or theft of the camera.
