Cameras are wireless to the DVR. The wireless connection uses it own wireless connection to the DVR. Only the DVR needs to be connected to the internet for remote viewing, cell phone etc. You can hear and speak via the camera if you need to to. Very satisfied with the system, easy to set up and video is crisp and clear.

The camaras are A wireless CONNECTION TO DVR.DOES REQUIRE POWER TO CAMARAS TO MAKE THEM TURN ON AND RUN. A GOOD MONITOR REQUIRED. AND ALSO SUGGEST STRONG INTERNET.
