Thank you for the question and happy to help. Our systems don't require any subscription for continuous recording. Without any fees you have the ability to chose activity based or continuous recording as your needs require. These specific cameras can either be added to a system with local hard drive or you can run these cameras independently with MicroSD card for local storage. You then can access your footage via the free application Night Owl Protect. If you wish you can choose a plan for backup storage but no subscription of any kind is required for full functionality.
