Thank you for the question and happy to help. These cameras link to a compatible Night Owl recorder and leverage private wi-fi network with the recorder. If your internet goes down the recorder will still link with the cameras and record. We also offer battery powered cameras that can allow for onboard MicroSD storage if you would like some backup that will not rely on the network and power. Hope this helps.
