For the Night Owl 8 Channel 2K (4MP) DVR with 8 Wired Cameras: The included wired cameras are powered by a plug-in power adapter. Each camera connects to the DVR using a video/power cable, and the system uses a power supply to keep them running continuously. There are no batteries to recharge or replace. The DVR itself also plugs into a standard wall outlet and provides local recording to the included 2TB hard drive. Optional Wi-Fi add-on cameras (if you expand the system) are powered separately, depending on the model. Some Wi-Fi cameras are plug-in, while others may be battery powered.
