This system is a wired system which uses BNC cabling to each camera from the recorder. We do offer Wi-Fi systems which use A/C plug in for power, as well as Wire Free systems which use batteries and Wi-Fi for a fully wire-free experience. Thanks, Night Owl SP Support team
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.These are wired. There is a pair of wires to each camera. One is for the signal, one is for power. They go back to the DVR where the signal wire gets plugged in. The power wire plugs into an AC adapter, then into household outlet. One adapter can take 4 power wires, so for 8 cameras, it takes two up two plugs. Wires are only 66 feet. I have a small house, and 66 feet is not enough to reach all areas, so you may need to buy extensions.
