The drive is meant to store your data for a period of time and then the system will write over the oldest data. It's essentially a loop. So if you're getting five days worth of storage, it starts over at the beginning after the five days. If you want it to store for a longer period of time, you have to get a bigger storage device or you have to change the parameters of the recording. You can make the cameras only record when there is movement and then further change the parameters of the sensitivity to only sense bigger movements before recording. Those changes will extend the amount of recording time on your drive. Good luck!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.By default, your Night Owl system is set to overwrite when the HDD becomes full. However, you can adjust these settings by logging into your system. You may also change the settings to record at a lower frame rate and resolution so the HDD may store more content before it becomes full. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any additional questions. Thank you for choosing Night Owl.
