You can expand the DVR up to a 6 TB hard drive. This system uses an internal 2.5 to 3.5 inch SATAvHDD. The amount of time you can record varies depending on the definition of the video and number of cameras used.

Our DVR's are expandable up to a 6TB hard drive. Our DVRs are compatible with internal SATA HDD's, 2.5" or 3.5". The HDD should have a minimum of 7200 RPM. We are not able to guarantee compatibility with external hard drives at this time. Regarding the amount of days it may record, we are not able to provide a definite answer since there are variable such as resolution of recording, amount of cameras among others, that will determine how many recordings will be stored in the hard drive. We recommend setting the Night Owl DVR to record only during a motion event, this will save space and allow for the most recordings within the hard drive. Thank you for choosing Night Owl.
