QuestionWhat happens if you extend the length of the cable past 200ft (per the specs). I understand that the unit comes with 60ft. If I were to purchase 2x 100ft cables to add to it, how will the final quality be affected? Will it not even display an image?

- Answer Answer is yes and no. You can extend I have. I bought some random extenders online and they work really well but at times you can tell the color is off at times. I've never extended with actual extensions from the actual company. But in theory it should not matter. These cables were high quality and rated high on the site. If it's important to you I would spend the extra money and buy from night owl and make sure. But extending dropped the quality for me you can clearly tell they aren't as sharp as the 60ft cords.

QuestionCan these be connected to CAT5?

- Answer Good Afternoon, the cameras connect to the DVR via BNC cables, which are included with the system. If you would like to use Cat5 ethernet cables to connect the cameras to the DVR, you will need to use a Night Owl Video Balum to connect the cameras to the Ethernet cable and make the connection to the DVR. Also, you may use the Cat5 ethernet to connect the system to the internet. Thank you for choosing Night Owl.

- Answer I connected two 100' cables ran under ground in a pipe to other side of driveway up a pole and it works great for a wide view above, no so good for identifying a person just letting me see large areas. I have lower ones for identifying persons

- Answer You may view or download the recordings manually directly from the Night Owl DVR. You will need a Monitor/TV connected to the DVR in order to view the recordings. - Answer Good Afternoon Mark, the cameras need to be connected to the Night Owl DVR so they may record. You would need to have two separate systems to be able to monitor 2 separate properties. The system does not require an internet connection so that it may monitor your property, however, if you would like to remotely view your system you would need a wired internet connection.
