Thank you for the question and happy to support. This camera does indeed record. You have a few options for how it records and how long it can go before overwriting recordings. You can add this to a compatible Night Owl system or run it by itself. If you want recordings by itself accessible through our mobile app you can add a MicroSD card of your choosing to allow for localized storage. The length of recording will depend on the size of the memory you add and how frequently your camera records motion, etc. Thanks, Night Owl SP Digital Support Team
