“Waterproof Lens Is the 11-27.5mm lens definitely waterproof? I know it says it online but when I went to Best Buy today to buy a camera case and memory card, the sales associate had no idea about the camera. He said I have to buy a different lens and this one was just a standard lens and was not waterproof. I'm just a little nervous about taking such an expensive camera on vacation. I want to make sure the lens that came in the box is the lens that I can take in water.”

Lens that comes in box is water proof. The lens says "Water Proof" and "Shock Proof".

Please try again later.There are currently 2 waterproof lenses that are designed for use with the Nikon 1 AW1 waterproof camera: the 1 NIKKOR AW 10mm f/2.8 Lens and the AW 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens. Other 1NIKKOR Lenses, including the 1 NIKKOR 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6 (not AW) lens, can be used on the AW1 but are not waterpoof. This kit includes the waterproof version of the 11-27.5mm lens.
