They would be light for travel and would not "wear" down your neck

We also used them to see other sea animals like dolphins and turtles. They were great. Very clear Very happy with our choice to purchase these.

If you're in a place where you can use a tripod for viewing, get the more powerful set of binoculars. I live in Florida so I like to sit on my screened patio to watch the wildlife here without a tripod.

They are a little heavier, but that reduces a lot of the wobble, so it was really easy to focus on the animals. And actually adjusting the focus was pretty easy too. Good value for the money. Have a fun safari.
