• The Nikon - AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D Standard Lens is compatible with the Nikon 5300 model however, it will not autofocus.

• The AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D Standard Lens will not autofocus on the D5300 but is otherwise compatible. For a lens that will autofocus on the D5300, look for NIKKOR lenses with the AF-S designation like the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G Lens.

• I believe so but it might only let for shoot in manual, but try to do more research like on YouTube or Google.

• Absolutely NOT. Your camera does NOT have a auto focus motor - hence, the lenses you need to look for have a focusing motor built into them.
