The Nikon D5100 DSLR camera is not compatible with Nikon AF-P type lenses, however, Nikon has a wide variety of other types of lenses to choose from. For fully compatible lenses for the D5100 camera try Nikon's AF-S or newer E-type lenses. You can also try out Nikon's AI and AF-type lenses, though these have some limitations when used with this model camera.
