• Nikon AF-P type lenses are not compatible with the Nikon D3100 DSLR DX-format camera. For fully compatible lenses with the D3100 camera model look into Nikon AF-S type lenses such as the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR Telephoto Zoom lens or the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5 -5.6G ED VR Standard Zoom lens. You can also use AI and AF-type lenses with some limitation.
