Yes, the AF-S NIKKOR 24-70 f/2.8G Lens is fully compatible with the D7100.

As with some of the Nikon lenses going back and forth between a full frame and crop sensor camera can cause some vignetting but it's easily fixed with profile corrections in Lightroom if it's an issue. Also, since the D 7100 is not a full frame camera, it will not go as wide as a 24 millimeter. It will be more like a 30-85 ish millimeter. I go back and forth between my crop and FF with all of my lenses with no problems
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.From my experience, all Nikon lenses will work on most modern Nikon DSLRs. But because the 24 is a full frame lens and the 7100 isn't a full frame camera, you're not using it to it's best capability. If you're anticipating getting a full frame camera soon, then go for it. If not, then just go for a good DX style lens first.
