• Yes, however with it being a cropped sensor in a DX body you will have a slightly longer focal length closer to 127mm opposed to the FX version of 85. It is well worth it. I use it on my D3200 and couldn't be happier.

• Yes, the AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G Lens is fully compatible with the D3100.
