Yes!! That’s what I currently have and I used this lens for a wedding session and the pictures turned out beautiful. You won’t regret it! The only negative is that there is no zoom, so you either have to walk up close to your object or walk back away from your object. Besides that, this is the lens I use for most of my photography sessions and it’s great in low light situations. The “bokeh” which is the blur part you were inquiring about is great! When you have your camera set and focused on your object it will beautifully blur out the surroundings and on the D3200 you can manually or automatically set it to focus on the object. I prefer manual so I know that everything else will be blurred out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G lens is ideal for taking head and shoulder portraiture stills and has an effective field of view of 127mm when used with a DX DSLR like the Nikon D3200. Wedding, concerts, and low light images are also easily captured with this fast and quiet lens. Bokeh, the blurring of background, is possible with this lens, which opens to a 1.8 aperture.
