The Nikon AF-S Teleconverter TC-17E II 1.7x Extender will work and have autofocus capability with the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/4G ED VR lens so long as you are using that combination with a camera that offers f/8 support, like the Nikon D850 or the Nikon D750. This lens and teleconverter will provide sharp and beautiful images even at the furthest telephoto distance when used with the D850 or D750 mentioned here.
