Q: QuestionCan I use Nikon - AF-S Teleconverter TC-17E II 1.7x Extender with Nikon 70-200 F/4 lens?. I will use it with Nikon D850 and D750 camera bodies. My concern is Auto focus and sharpness of the image.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The Nikon AF-S Teleconverter TC-17E II 1.7x Extender will work and have autofocus capability with the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/4G ED VR lens so long as you are using that combination with a camera that offers f/8 support, like the Nikon D850 or the Nikon D750. This lens and teleconverter will provide sharp and beautiful images even at the furthest telephoto distance when used with the D850 or D750 mentioned here. Q: QuestionWill this work with Nikon fx 70-200 F4 lens
Asked by RK.
- A:Answer The Nikon TC-17EII AF-S teleconverter (2151) can be used with the AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/4G ED VR Lens (2202), however the number of DSLRs that support autofocus with this combination is limited. Adding the TC-17EII to this lens reduces the amount of light transmitted through to the camera's sensor to the degree that some cameras will not be able to autofocus. Autofocus is available only with cameras that offer f/8 support. These include the D5, D500, D4/D4S, Df, D850, D810/D810A, D800/D800E, D750, D600/D610, D7100, D7200 and D7500. When this combination is used with other DSLRs only manual focus is available. For further assistance please contact Nikon Support at 1-800-NikonUS.

Q: QuestionHow does this perform (compatibility, image quality, etc.) with (1) 50mm f/1.8G, (2) 85mm f/1.8G, (3) 24-70mm f/2.8G, (4) 35mm f/1.8G DX (I think I know the answer on this one, just throwing it out in case someone knows better) on a Nikon D7000 body?
Asked by Zr.
- A:Answer The Nikon AF-S Teleconverter TC-17E II is not compatible with any of these lenses; 50mm f/1.8G, 85mm f/1.8G, 24-70mm f/2.8G or 35mm f/1.8G DX. Generally, wide angle lenses or wide angle zoom lenses cannot be used with teleconverters. In addition, lenses with relatively slow maximum apertures (slower than f/2.8) also cannot be used with a teleconverter.
