A teleconverter is basically a magnifying lens used between the camera body and the existing lens. Since it has an F mount it can be attach to your camera. Not all lenses can be used with a teleconverter. In general wide angle lenses or wide angle zoom lenses cannot be used. Also, lenses with relatively slow maximum apertures (slower than f2.8) cannot be used with teleconverters. In this case the 55-300mm lens cannot be use with any of our teleconverters.
