• The 55-300mm zoom lens would be a good economical choice. However the 70-300mm lens is better for sports due to its fast auto focus.

• The 70-300mm is a good choice. I have used very similar lens for years to shoot pro sports. Shooting with a 200-400 ISO will help freeze the faster action.
