The Nikon S7000 digital camera has an HDR (high dynamic range) composition option that can be turned on and off when you are using the Backlighting Mode. When it is set to "On" and the shutter-release button is pressed down all the way, the camera shoots images continuously at high speed, and saves two images. One image is a non-HDR composite image and one is an HDR composite image in which the loss of details in highlights or shadows is minimized. When the HDR option is set to "Off" and the shutter-release button is pressed down all the way, only one image is captured. The flash will fire to prevent the subject from being hidden in the shadows. If you need to learn more about HDR please contact Nikon Support.
