Yes, the Nikon COOLPIX S7000 digital camera does have an AF mode for manual focus. Just place the camera in Auto Mode, press menu, choose shooting Menu, then select AF Area Mode. Place the AF Area Mode in Manual and then press the "OK" button. You can then choose to go left, down, right or up by using the selector button. Autofocus is achieved by pressing the shutter-release button down halfway. Focused subjects will have a green box around them. While the green box is around the subject gently press the shutter-release button all the way down to allow to the camera to capture a sharply focused image. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The COOLPIX S7000 does not have a manual focus option. You can manually choose your FOCUS AREA, however, the camera only uses autofocus. If you having an intermittent focus problem, give Nikon technical support a phone call with all the details. A sample shot of the focus issue would help as well. Their phone number is 1-800-645-6687. They are available between 9am and 8pm EST, Monday through Friday.
