How can you tell if the battery is fully charged? null

The charger light stays red not blinking.

Pressing the 'info' button while in shooting mode will display the battery indicator icon. The display will vary depending on whether you are shooting in Viewfinder Mode or Live View Mode. Please see pages 6-9 of the D3400 Reference Manual for more information on using the 'info' button. Page 31 of the Reference Manual explains the different levels displayed bye the battery icon. When charging the EN-EL14a in the MH-24 charger the light on the charger will flash while charging, and then stop flashing and remain lit when charging is complete.
