“I currently have a Nikon D3000. I use an AF-S Nikkor lens 18-105mm ED lens (VR). Is this lens compatible with the D3400? What about an AF-S Nikkor 55-200 Ed lens (VR), is it still compatible? Will the auto focus still work? Thanks”

The Nikon D3400 DSLR camera has a Nikon F bayonet mount that is fully compatible with Nikon AF-S, AF-P and E-type lenses. Nikon AI and AF-type lenses can also be used but must be focused manually as the Nikon D3400 camera does not have a built-in focus motor. Both the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens and the AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR lens are completely compatible and will autofocus fully with the Nikon D3400 camera.
