Depending on what type of point and shoot you have, it may be a bit of an adjustment. However; with the Nikon D3500 Digital SLR, you will have a lot more control over your settings which can help you adjust your camera to be able to take pictures at the full 300mm Zoom with no blur from hand movements. If you are taking pictures of still objects, it is also recommended to use a tripod just to help with stability.
