Very nice DSLR kit!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect camera kit to get into DSLR. Takes great photos with lenses and is user friendly. I watched a few tutorials and was off to practice. The camera is nice and light, so its easy to carry around. You can transfer photos from the camera to your phone via Bluetooth through the Nikon app which is an awesome feature. The only downside is this camera is not compatible with traditional Bluetooth remotes and lights, they must be controlled through the Nikon app. I saw some questions ahout a camera bag prior to my purchase.. when i purchased (4/20/21), it did not come with a camera bag. Overall i would recommend this camera kit to anyone wanting to get into DSLR cameras, or is getting back into it. Came with: camera body, 2 lenses, beck strap, battery, charger, and lense caps. Very happy with my purchase.

Great Camera
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not a complete amateur but I am far from professional too. I used Canon 35mm Sales and have Rebel DSLRs bought used but I really wanted to try Nikon and even used they are high. I got this 3500 to try out Nikon and love it!! Manual or auto it takes the picture no beeping and refusing to cycle. In focus or not it will cycle as long as the autofocus isn't jumping. And if it does (only does when use a 2x Vivitar converter) just turn the focus ring a bit it quits and snaps the shot. I plan on getting a full frame next I love this one so much. And if your just getting into photography grab a 35mm f1.8 DX to go with the kit you need a portrait lens for a DSLR. Also a 10-20mm or 10-24mm so you have the whole range to play with that's next on my list to have a full kit. Don't worry about messing up settings it has a factory reset option too. Great for any beginner or amateur looking for a new camera. Also has the option to add copywriter (your name and a business or year) on the data attached to the picture. Snapbridge also works connect to your smartphone and get all your pictures on your phone quick via Bluetooth. I have already taken over a thousand photos and put away my old canons.

Great!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this camera to upgrade from a Nikon D40 which I traded in to put towards this purchase. I'm super happy with it so far. I recently started a small photography business and wanted something with more focus points (this has 11, the D40 had 3), a bigger screen (the d3500 is NOT a touch screen nor does it flip out), and this set came with a 70-300 mm zoom lens and the 18-55 mm for about $500. I think it's a great camera for the price for someone starting out that doesn't want to break the bank on a camera & lens kit. I have a 32GB memory card that I used with my D40. With the D40 it said I could store up to 4k RAW photos, but with the D3500 it says I can store only 1K. You may want to purchase larger memory cards for more storage space.

Happy Mother’s Day to Me!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Photography has always been an interest of mine, but I tend to put my creative interests on the back burner. Not anymore! This camera is perfect for beginning to explore the wonderful world of photography. So happy I went with my gut and made this purchase.

Awesome DSLR for beginners
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this camera almost a year ago. I got into photography when I put a bird feeder in my backyard. This camera has been EXCELLENT. Even with the kit lenses it takes super sharp images. The "guide" mode is perfect for beginners looking to hone their skills. The 300mm lens really let's you get close to your subject. I really can't say enough good things about this camera. I have been able to take some really great pictures of my feathered friends with it.

Great starter camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just retired and was looking for a good starter camera..Not to easy and ant the same time not to difficult. The Nikon D3500 fit perfectly. I had done my research and this camera kept coming up. I will defiantly grow into this camera. To start with you can put it in “auto” until you learn about the manual settings that will get you custom “professional” spin on your photos. I am very happy with this camera and lenses so far..

Loving it!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first ‘real’ DSLR. This bundle is the perfect starter pack. Battery life is better than expected, although I haven’t used the flash much as of yet, but with all the different settings you almost never have to use it except for very low light conditions or for ‘flash fill’. Download the Smartbridge app and you can use your phone as a remote shutter release or to download photos instantly. The clarity of photos even when taken at a distance and then blown-up on my computer is just amazing! You won’t be disappointed!

Great Bundle
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great camera for first time users. You can really dial in with this package because it comes with 2 lenses. One for portraits and another for wide ranges. Adjusting the apeture is breeze once you get a few youtube videos under your belt.

Q: QuestionDoes this camera shoot fast enough for sports photography? Does it takes pictures clearly?
Asked by Athleticpic.
- A:Answer The Nikon D3500 is capable of taking amazing sports photos! It even has a Sports Scene Mode, automatically optimizing your settings with a fast shutter speed to freeze motion for dynamic sports shots in which the main subject stands out clearly. If sports photography will be your main focus, you may want to consider investing in a faster lens with a wider aperture.

Q: QuestionDoes this camera have a macro setting?
Asked by Sharon.
- A:Answer The Nikon D3500 DSLR DX-format camera has a dedicated mode called "Close up" which can allow you to get close-up shots of flowers, insects and other small objects. For getting macro, however, you will need a macro lens for focusing at very close ranges. Look into macro lenses like the Nikon AF-S Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED Macro Lens, or one that's optimized for use with DX-format cameras, like the Nikon AF-S DX Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G Macro Lens.
