The Nikon D3500 DSLR DX-format camera has a dedicated mode called "Close up" which can allow you to get close-up shots of flowers, insects and other small objects. For getting macro, however, you will need a macro lens for focusing at very close ranges. Look into macro lenses like the Nikon AF-S Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED Macro Lens, or one that's optimized for use with DX-format cameras, like the Nikon AF-S DX Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G Macro Lens.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does but I don't use it. I use manual setting. I set my aperture to a lower number (around f/1.8-f/2.8) using aperture priority then I switch to manual to set my shutter speed to around 1/250 or which I think works best.
