• The Nikon D5500 DSLR camera has a 1/4 inch (ISO 1222) standard tripod socket that fits any tripod with that same measurement. Before using a tripod make sure that it can withstand the weight of the Nikon D5500 camera and lens(es) you choose to use with it.

• On The Nikon website for this particular model it says it has a tripod socket....so not sure why Nikon replied that it does not.
