The D750, with it's excellent FULL HD video capability, enables you to take high quality video with the camera. The camera uses only the tilting LCD screen to shoot the video in Nikon's LIVE VIEW mode. You cannot use the optical viewfinder to shoot the video as the mirror is flipped up to allow for the recording of video. This will block the optical viewfinder. Autofocus does work in Video mode as well as manual focus.

You cannot use the viewfinder when shooting video but what you are recording is shown live on the rear display. There are multiple autofocus options for use during video mode. One other aspect of video that may interest you is that the length of video clips are limited to about 20 minutes (as I recall) in standard HD mode and shorter times if you go for a high number of frames per second. You can NOT record continuously until a large memory card fills up.
