“Do you need an external Microphone for good sound quality when recording a video? I don't plan on recording many video's but I want to make sure the sound on them is good quality before I buy.”

I'm not sure what is your definition of quality recording. Studio sound board or old school VCR camcorder quality. I bought a Nikon ME-1 microphone to mount on the camera. It isn't studio quality but better than camcorder quality. Hope this helps.
