• The EN-EL15b will not work in place of the EN-EL3e.

• Probably not. I have a Nikon D810 that uses an EN-EL15 and the EN-EL15b does not fit inside this camera. I think the EN-ELb is specifically for the mirrorless Nikon cameras.
