No, This is to adapt F mount lenses to Z cameras. Your D5200 should not need any adapter for the lens and will work as long as the lens has a built in focus motor. 
However if you have a Z series camera, that lens should work with the FTZ adaptor. The only negative would be using a lens without a built in focus motor. You can still use a lens like that, but the Z cameras do not turn the screw drive on the older lenses and you will have to manually focus those older lenses.

Hey! The adaptor is only for Nikons mirrorless system, your 55-300mm should work just fine on your D5200.
