“What is the range for using the phone as a remote? Is there other options to improve the distance?”

I try form distance between 25 to 50 meters with no problem

Range is about 10 feet. That is if the camera doesnt shut off before you take the picture.

When using the Snapbridge application for remote shutter release you can be approximately 10m (10 yards) away from the Nikon KeyMission 360 Action camera and still be in communication distance. This is the maximum amount of distance you can be from the camera and still be in connected with the smart device. The optional ML-L6 Remote Control will also allow you to be 10m (10 yards) away from the camera when recording movies and taking pictures. In addition you can use the optional remote to turn the camera on and off as well as start/stop a movie recording.
