Will this work for nikon d5 null

The D5 is a full body camera that already includes a vertical grip. You can't add a vertical grip to it.

I doubt it. It won’t even work on a D610. I believe it’s specific to the 800 series.

No, the MB-D18 is not compatible with the Nikon D5 Digital SLR Camera. This grip was made to be used specifically with the Nikon D850.
