• Nikon Monarch binoculars have more coatings on the lenses than Nikon Prostaff binoculars. These coatings enhance the image quality of the binoculars so everything you see is sharper.

• I can't say, because if prostaff is brand of binoculars I did not compare it with Nikon. I choose one other brand and would have purchased if it had been available, however, it was out of stock/sold out and I have other Nikon products and felt this set would be fine.
