I believe that I saw that the company directly responded to this question. I just wanted to give some extra assurance that it probably won't hurt your parrots. I have two parakeets that are housed about 6-12 feet from the fryer (which is in the kitchen). I have probably used it over ten times already and they seem to be just fine. Since the basket is ptfe/pfoa free than birds and their owners should be safe :)
