Yes, it does, but not using a traditional espresso. There's a handy booklet with instructions and recipes in the box. I'm quite happy with my daily cappuccino. Basically, in this machine, pour milk in a mug, heat 30 seconds in the microwave, froth for 30 seconds using the built in frother, two scoops of coffee on the included measuring device, flip down the mug holder, put your frothed milk containing mug there, hit the specialty brew button, cappuccino done. It even layers with all the separated nicely.
