- Answer I know a lot of people complain about the sound, but honestly it’s no louder then a vacuum cleaner, it’s definitely Not Jet engine loud at all. The machine is drilling through frozen solid ingredients. The ice cream setting runs for 2 minutes. The Italian ice setting runs for 5 minutes, you don’t have to stand right next to the machine while it’s running if the sound bothers you. If I walk into the other room, it’s barely noticeable.

- Answer Hello: The difference between the 201 and 501 models are the amount of functions.. The 201 has 7 functions, such as ice cream, lite ice cream, sorbet, milkshake, smoothie bowl, gelato and the ability to do mix-ins. The 501 has the same as I just mentioned, plus it has frozen yogurt, creamiccino, frozen drink, slushi, and italian ice. the mix-in function is the capability add treats, like cookies, candies, fruit, chocolate, etc. I hope this helps.
