• I would say in theory, yes. And, I'd use a pot such as a Dutch oven pot that can be used in a conventional oven. But, as I see it, it's an oven and not a stove top burner so, using it for things you would do on a stove top burner is probably not recommended. This is only my opinion and not a professional statement.

• Yes, any oven safe bowl should be fine, i.e. ceramic, stone, etc..
