Because of gravity. If you don’t clean the oil out of the bottom of the oven and flip it up, the oil will leak out of the bottom. This oven probably isn’t for you if you don’t clean it.

Really you could never use oil and be great. You might have used too much oil or wrong kind of oil and thats why its happening
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’m on my second ninja oven. My original ninja never leaked out, ever! I bought the new one because I wanted a clean, new one. But, this one leaks oil onto my counter when I fold it up. I’m cooking the same breakfast that I cooked in my original.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you keep the sear plate in place, it should catch the extra oil. If you are air frying something with a lot of oil, you should clean up the inside of the oven and any pans and the bottom plate before flipping it up.
