• I found that without a paper filter there was too much coffee "sludge". I am using #2 filters and they work perfectly and aren't too big.

• The filter is already given for long term use. You can use paper filter though.

• It does not use paper filter at all! , It comes with two washable (re-useable) filters it’s great!
