“The photos seem to show a 2nd cutting mechanism on 1 of the caps . Does it fit on both the large and small container or just the small ? Which parts other than the motor-based unit are not dishwashable ? Seems there were 2 different answers earlier”

No it does not fit on both. The larger size comes with its own blades
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is a blade mechanism in the big unit. There is also another blade mechanism for the cups. You can put smoothie... fixins inside the cup. Screw on the blade then place entire contraption upside down on blending base. Then, when done, unscrew blade mechanism and screw on drinking/pouring lid
