- Answer It crushes the ice better than any other small kitchen device I’ve ever used. It doesn’t shave ice but crushes it. I use frozen whole strawberries and blueberries with 1/4 cup of juice and it makes fantastic smoothies. It leaves no whole or pieces of fruit at all. It’s the best machine out there. This is my second one. I had my other one for over 10 years. It finally gave out. I will always have a Ninja in my kitchen.

- Answer When something frozen is put into the blender it ends up sticking to the side when there is not liquid in it. It chops it up. I haven’t used it with ice but with my frozen fruit it chops it so I put juice or milk to make it into a smoothie. I hope that helps.
