No, the Slushi Maker cannot make slush ice from plain water alone. The machine requires your mixture to contain at least 4% sugar in order to create the proper slush consistency. If you use only plain water, the machine will not function correctly and will alert you that more sugar is needed.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It has to have a certain type of sugar level in the liquid so it will not slush just plain water. It has a sensor in it so if you try the machine will auto shut off.
