• You can heat just one basket. Both the top and bottom levels in that basket will heat.

• It technically has two different motors to heat each side individually but since it's not completely sealed between the two sides it does take longer to cook in it and there is cold spots compared to our old ninja single basket. You only heat one basket at a time

• Yes, both zones are self-contained with separate heating elements and fans. You can't heat just half of one basket, the heating element will work through the whole basket.
