• You will receive an email from Best Buy which contains the code. From there, you can either forward the message or copy it down and send via a text message

• yes but not through text message at first. you'd get an email with a link to redeem the gift card. if the gift card redemption includes a code (like for Nintendo or PlayStation money) you can then send the code via text to whoever.
