You can do both but I've noticed occasional lag when I'm using it to charge for longer periods of time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can play with it as well as use it for the charger
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you feel like you want a more traditional hand held control you can use this both as a charger (hooked up to your charging cable) and as a grip. I still prefer the pro controller I bought, but the charging handle is a good compromise. Just be aware, the grip that comes with the switch is a non-charging version, just a shell really, so if you think you want one, buy it at the same time as you get the switch so that the total gets included if you're going the special financing route. The switch is one of those systems where you don't get a lot of peripherals to start with, but the ones you can acquire are usually very good quality and useful.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can play with it when the joy cons are attached
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can play with it. Charge your joy-cons with it, for about 3 hours, and then unplug the whole grip from the charging cable, and play for up to about 3 days!
