“Can you use this without connection? In other words does it have to be plugged in while playing or is that option there only if you need charging?”

Only needs to be plugged in to charge. Otherwise its wireless play. So far mine is great!

Yes you can use it without the cord. You only need the cord when charging.

You do not have to keep it on the charger to use it. I keep mine charging for about 3 hours, and then I simply unplug it, and play! It lasts a good 3 days before I have to recharge.
